The Mt. Parnonas range, perched high above the ancient city of Sparta and densely covered with Greek oak trees, provides us with this deliciously dark honey. At an elevation of 3,000 feet, the Sparta Mt. Parnonas Greek Oak Honey is gathered in remote locations. When held up against a light, our deepest honey glows a deep mahogany red, mimicking the richly hued fall oak leaves that are its source. Our Sparta Oak honey is a less sweet, darker honey that tastes like the heavily wooded hills of Peloponnesus and has overtones of burnt sugar, molasses, and horehound.
