The Peloponnesus’ tallest peak, Mt. Taygetos, towers over ancient Sparta, where we get our Sparta Pine honey harvested at an elevation of 2,700 feet. The mountain, well-known for its wild plants, is also heavily wooded with various species, including the local Fir trees, which provides us with this gorgeously brilliant and delicious honey. This rich, amber honey has notes of roasted chestnuts, candied pistachio, and sassafras.
